Kingfisher Inn
The Kingfisher Inn is a landmark in the Garden City area of Horry County, South Carolina. It was originally built as a hotel in 1973 and converted into condominiums in 1983. Garden City is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula of Murrells Inlet.
Its location between the Atlantic Ocean and Murrells Inlet make Garden City a great spot for fishing! The Kingfisher Inn is located directly next to the Garden City Pier, which was formerly known as the “Kingfisher Pier” until Hurricane Hugo demolished much of the beach area in 1989.
Polls conducted by The Myrtle Beach Sun News have continually ranked Garden City’s pier as the “Best Pier” in the Grand Strand. You can purchase fishing passes at the Kingfisher Inn front desk or at the Pier Tackle Shop.
The 668 foot long pier has something for everyone. It’s wonderful for breakfast or lunch at the Pier Cafe, fishing, drinks, dancing, the indoor arcade, and great ocean views. During the warm summer months, the bar opens and live music floats through the salty air, creating a lively beach evening.
